The following is a summary of our meeting, using abridged notes from the official minutes they are not intended to be a replacement of those minutes, a full copy of the minutes are available from the group Secretary.
Meeting held on Thursday, 7 February 2013 at Clevedon Sailing Club

MINUTES OF LAST MEETING – agreed
FINANCES/GRANTS -Providing correct documentation, as requested by the bank, has delayed the transferring of the signatories. Donation received from the WI (£50). Insurance paid for the trailer / boat. The website renewal (approx £15) agreed – Balance stands at £311.24. (FJ)
RIVER CLEANING – Working party (9/1) cleared section by the Conservative Club – Query raised over the sycamores at this site, need to contact North Somerset as they are their responsibility. Further clearing required behind Leslie Dark’s and South Clevedon playing field bridge. Area near Southern Way bridge to be cleared (11/2)
EQUIPMENT – EA have provided – 2 “manure” forks – to help with weed clearing -2 litter pickers, pack of plastic gloves, giant pack of industrial anti-bacterial wipes. The have also ordered two more rakes to help with the weed clearing.
FOOTPATHS/WALKS – (MA) reported progress with the two river walk – new route to avoid the Motorway roundabout, using the fisherman’s path by the blind yeo.

TOWN SECTION –
Timbers to be removed from the ‘Shopland’ culvert.
Rubbish has found it’s way into the river, the need to clear the trash screen and the remains of a collapsed wall in the river were noted. The appropriate owners have been contacted.

REPORTS FROM RIVER REPRESENTATIVES
- Trevor’s Section – Resident ducks and swan helping to keep the river looking good. Chris had seen a cygnet being chased upstream – might be the same one as the rescued one.
- Stewart’s Section – River in good condition for this time of year
- Bernard’s Section – Considerable amount of water lying in the fields from Tickenham to Northern Way – levels at 4.6 to help drain the farm land.
PUBLICITY – Not much success with the local press – there was a bit in the Western Daily Press about the cygnet (provided by Secret World)
WEBSITE -Updated with various pictures and Stewart’s ‘Levels’ section provides an excellent record of the problems we have had with the bad weather over the last few months.
